Ciao, my name is Piero* Borgo, I’m a multidisciplinary designer spanning from brand identity, to UX/UI and product design.
For as long as I remember I always loved design, that’s why I pursued a design career since high school.
In 2009 I moved to Rome where I studied visual communication at Quasar Institute for Advanced Design. During the 3 years I attended the courses I further developed my love for design, with a focus on branding and identity. In 2012 I graduated with honors.
After Quasar, I started working right away in a design agency, while also freelancing for clients in Italy and abroad.
In 2013 I won the “We Like Talents” contest by IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, the prize consisted in a full scolarship in the Brand Identity and Art Direction master course, in the end I never attendend IED.
That same year I decided to pursue something different than graphic design. I was lucky to attend the 2013 edition of InnovAction Lab, where I learned the basics of entrepreneurship and met my future co-founders.
At InnovAction Lab we started working on Leevia, developed our first minimum viable product and validated our business idea in less than 24 hours.
With team Leevia we won the 2013 edition of InnovAction Lab, and that’s where our journey started.
During the fist stages of Leevia, we traveled across Europe and won different startup competitions, gaining enough traction to secure our first seed funding and turn Leevia from a simple idea to a company.
We moved from Rome to Trento, where we started working on our platform, we also secured another seed funding grant from the European Union.
In 2015 team Leevia was chosen to participate the 2nd batch of startup competition Techpeaks, promoted by Trentino Sviluppo.
At Techpeaks, I met entrepreneurs from successful companies from all around the world such as Zappos, Eventbrite, Badoo, Bit.Ly, Lean Startup Machine, Supermercato 24, etc…
During these months we realeased the first version of Leevia platform and won a €50K grant for the best startup idea at Techpeaks.
After a brief period in Rome, in 2016 we finally moved in Milan and started developing more and more products of our contest platform product suite. In the first quarter of 2016 Leevia was getting more and more clients, so we secured another funding from private angel investors to grow the team and further develop the platform.
Since then, Leevia has become the leading contest platform in Italy, with more than 25 products and thousands of customers, from small companies to big international brands.
In 2021, Leevia has been acquired by Advice Group.
In 2023 I left Leevia, ready for what’s next.
